Welcome to the CHANCE family!

When you participate in the CHANCE Program, you and your family will receive campus-wide support. As a newly admitted student, it’s important that you follow our Next Steps for First-Year Huskies to ensure a smooth transition.

CHANCE Program Checklist

To officially become part of the CHANCE Program, you also must complete the steps below, if you haven’t yet. Please use this checklist as your guide:

• • Fill out our CHANCE Participation Form.
  • Register to attend one of our CHANCE Advantage events, required of all newly admitted students in the program.
  • Keep checking your NIU email and your Next Steps Portal. This is the official way we’ll communicate with you about everything you need to know to ensure a smooth start.
  • Keep an eye out for information about our leadership conference in August. Featuring speakers on various topics, such as academic success, this event is designed to help you navigate your first year as a Huskie.
